Our Creative Mathematics programme differs from ordinary teaching and traditional classroom settings. It goes beyond just numbers, operations, measurements and counting. Our programme is intended to lead children to develop their mathematical ability, to learn the art of mathematics, and also create mathematical ideas.
We encourage the art of questioning through the incorporation of active and verbal communication and connection building. This culture of idea sharing broadens a child’s conceptualisation skill, an integral building block for all areas of mathematical content. Furthermore, connections encourage the linkage of a child’s preconceived understanding to the mathematics taught in school. We integrate our activities into themes and our curriculum includes a pre and post assessment of each strategy taught.
